Freshman Scholars Program
Cleveland State University's Freshman Scholars program makes it easy for qualified students to receive a merit scholarship of $3,000 renewable* up to $12,000 over four years. Students who meet minimum eligibility requirements will be automatically awarded a Freshman Scholars scholarship to attend CSU. No separate application is necessary.
Eligibility Requirements
2012 high school graduate with at least a 3.0 GPA and an ACT score of 23 or a combined 1070 SAT (combined critical reading & math). Student must accept admission to CSU by May 1 and enroll for at least 15 fall credit hours.
* Student must complete at least 30 credit hours (15 fall semester, 15 spring semester) and earn a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA to renew scholarship each year.
Residence Hall Scholarship
Freshman Scholars who sign a one-year contract to live in a CSU residence hall are automatically awarded an additional $2,000 Residence Hall Scholarship that is renewable* up to $8,000 over four years. No separate scholarship application is necessary.
In total, Freshman Scholars who live on campus receive $5,000 per year in scholarships, renewable up to $20,000 over four years — an estimated 30% savings on tuition, room and board.
Eligibility Requirements
The Residence Hall Scholarship is scholarship is only available to Freshman Scholars and University Scholars merit award recipients.
* Student must retain Freshman Scholar status and continue to live in Euclid Commons or Fenn Tower to renew scholarship each year.
University Scholars Program
The new University Scholars program at Cleveland State University saves students 50% on tuition and grants access to a host of exclusive Honors Program benefits on campus. The $4,500 University Scholars merit award is renewable* up to $18,000 over four years.
Eligibility Requirements
2012 high school graduate with at least a 3.5 GPA and an ACT score of 26 or a combined 1190 SAT (combined critical reading & math). Student must accept admission to CSU by May 1, return the Scholars Acceptance Form to the Honors Program Office and enroll for at least 15 fall credit hours.

Plus — University Scholars are eligible for the Residence Hall Scholarship. In total, University Scholars who live on campus receive $6,500 per year in scholarships, renewable** to $26,000 over four years.
